unique themed-based restaurant that aspires to
relive the golden 60’s of Pakistan. Established in
2010, this upbeat and colorful restaurant appeals to guests
of all ages and offers Pakistani and wand exciting dining
experience.
The idea of making a sixties theme restaurant was to bring
back the green revolution and to project the softer image of
Pakistan. In the 60’s, Pakistan was a modern growing Islamic
country as depicted from the fashion, showbiz and industries
of that time.

The ambiance, atmosphere and
mood of the restaurant has been designed to create an
exciting experience from the 60’s, surrounded by lush greenery, well
maintained lawns and fresh air with sense of calmness. Apart
from the tasty food and genuine personalized service, we
want our guests to relive the progressive Pakistan. 1969 is
the only theme restaurant depicting the golden era of Pakistan
which also incorporates beauty, serenity and traditional
hospitality.
The inspiration behind the restaurant was to show our youth how modern and
progressive we have been and can be. The concept and
interior decor are credited to the efforts of the young owners who put in
their personal love and attention into the detailing of 60’s
design and bringing with it the old cultural feel. It is a
privilege and pleasure to have guests over the age of 40 come
to eat and feel comfortable in our unique atmosphere.
However, anyone who loves nature, good food and who can
appreciate a down-to-earth staff will enjoy dining at 1969.

of mocktails in many tasty flavors.

Chef of the Year (Unilever) as well as extensive international experience from
Peshawar to Kabul, and turkey to Islamabad. The staff also
includes a chef who was previously employed at the 5-Star Serena
hotel,
as well as handpicked professionals from specialty
restaurants which all contribute to rainbow of tastes at
1969.
1969 believes in creating possibilities and polishing the potential
of human beings, thus offering a full opportunity to the team
to learn and enjoy growing with the organization. They train
their staff on a periodic basis in accordance to international standards
in addition to being well-trained by an International expert
for 3 months.

BACKGROUND OF
THE RESTAURANT
2008 was
the year the idea of 1969 was conceived. The partners
decided to create something beautiful, exciting and simply traditional. A place which
would attract all genders and
age groups. The creators found an exclusive place barren and
abandoned, an old Hawaili of Rajjgans. Suddenly the idea
became a reality and therefore kept history alive.
Thus the impressions of Golden Pakistan were recreated in a
restaurant. Immaculately decorated with simplicity,
comfort and serenity.
1969 & Time goes on… is a sister
concern of Gelato Affairs, one of the top ice cream shops in
Pakistan. Gelato Affairs was first
international ice cream chain that was introduced in Pakistan. At
Gelato Affairs is known for its high quality Gelato and
Coffees and continues to have a prominent presence in Pakistan
with branches in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad. |
